In the 90's a cool thing to do was to decorate your binders, backpacks, boxes, and basically EVERYTHING! We had these things called "Transfers" which are images on plastic printed but printed in a way that you could take this image and put in on an item. The way they made these were that they printed this image with the image being printed in a layer and having the image be printed in the back of the plastic and not on top like a traditional printer would print. I know that is alot to process but you will understand once you see how these work, So along with the trend we got Sailor Moon ones to decorate our stuff and be a totally cool kid rocking the scouts on our stuff.

And it was not really that costly to buy these. BUT and this is the big but with Transfers is that once you use it you can not RE-use it. So basically you are stuck with using the image on whatever you used it on. You can not take it off and reposition it and you can not fix it if you put it on
crooked :(
This Sailor Moon Transfer had a certain amount of characters on it and came with a Popsicle stick! That is right that is how you "rub" the transfer on to an item. You take your item, clean is well and put the plastic on top and take that stick and rub the image from top to bottom till it pulls off the plastic sheet and gets stuck on to whatever you put it on. These do not work for putting them on yourself and are not water proof. Over time they will not rub off and if you bought them today they probably would not work due to how ever they were stored (the heat, the moisture of places weaken and damage items like this).
You can find these still on sites like ebay but again buy with caution due to the fact that they are old and may not transfer.
